How do Reserved seats work in the Event Occurrences settings?

I want to reserve 10 seats for an event that I offered to an organisation. How do I do this with the Reserved field in the Event Occurrences options?

The Reserved field is not automatic, it is just a note field that you use as a reminder, let's look at an example.

You have an event with 30 seats and you want to reserve 10. Add 30 in Places, 20 in Places Left and 10 in Reserved as shown below.

Once the 20 places available have been booked, the Placed Left will reduced to zero and the Reserved will still show 10, however, Delegates are not able to book these places, nor you can add them in the Admin view. 

To make these places available you would need to Edit the Occurrence Settings, change Places Left to 10, change Reserved to 0 and click on the Save Event button. 

NOTE: Reserved is purely a note field with no active function.
