How to Add and Edit Header & Footer Menus

To update a menu, hover over "Appearance" in the left-hand admin menu and click "Menus",

  • Select which menu you want to edit from the drop-down and click "Select".Editing menu
  • Use the pages box to select what you want to add. There is the option to view the most recent Pages, all Pages or use the search functionality.
  • Once you have clicked on your page, press the Add to Menu button.

  • WordPress will automatically add this to the bottom of the list.
  • You will then need to click, drag, and drop the Page to where you want it to sit.
  • If it is a child Page, make sure it is sitting slightly indented so WordPress knows it is to appear under the Parent page you are linking it to, you can do this by dragging the page to the right.
  • Do not forget to click on the Save Menu button which can be found at the top and bottom of the menu structure.

If you load the front-end of website and your menu has not changed, press CTRL + F5 to do a hard refresh and it should update.

Footer menus can be managed in the same area, and the Quick Links list can be edited and maintained as above. However, to have make changes to widgets included in the footer menu, you will need to access the widgets link from the Appearance menu:

Once here, you can open the Footer Widgets menu to add and edit the widgets you wish to add:

There are a number of different options for widgets - you can link to your social media channels such as LinkedIn and Twitter, you can share your YouTube channel or you can add a gallery of images. You can add your chosen widgets by clicking the add block button:

And then searching through the widget library to find what you want:
