Working with Guide Questions.

Guide Questions are an exciting optional feature that can elevate your website experience. If you're interested in learning more, don't hesitate to contact your account manager for all the details!

Guide Questions allows you to build an interactive question-and-answer feature on your website. The user answers your preformatted questions and is directed to the answers you wish to provide them. The answers might be another question, a preformatted question, or even result in redirecting them to a website.

WARNING: Guide Questions need to be planned before you start creating them. It is worth starting at the end and creating the questions backwards. In this article we look at the question "Would you like a Cup of Tea?" however, we start with creating the question "Have you Boiled the kettle?" and then work backwards.

To create a new questions click on the Guide Questions heading in the left-hand navigation.

To add a new question click on Add New Guide Question.

Add a Title for the questions and then add the Question Title.

Tip: Tip: Prefix the Title with Form A, B... or 1, 2... so you can link questions together easily.

Click in the Answer field to add your first Answer. Type in Yes.

Click on the What should happen if the user selects this option? dropdown. Select Show a message.

Tip! You will have three options:

  • Load Another Question
This will allow you to select a further question to redirect the user to.
  • Redirect to a page
This will redirect the user to a new webpage.
  • Show a message.
This will all you to provide the text which will be displayed to the user.

In the Message text field add the message you would like to be displayed to the user.

To add another option, click on the Add Answer button.

Click into the Answer field and repeat the previous process.

This time we added No for the answer, and Fill a kettle and boil it.

Once you have added all the answers you need, click on the Publish button. This will make the question available.

To build up a flow of questions, you repeat the process. I have now created a question asking Do you want a Cup of Tea?

If the user answers Yes to this question, I want to redirect them to question Form B – Have you Boiled the Kettle? This process builds the flow.

If they answer No, I want to load another question Form B – Do you want a Coffee?

Once you have added all the options, click on the Publish button.
